With RNLI lifeguards off duty during the Christmas and winter season, sea swimmers are being urged to stay safe. The charity advises new and experienced swimmers to swim with a buddy, choose a safe spot, check tides and weather, wear bright gear, enter the water slowly and carry a way to call for help.
