In Christchurch, Bargates is currently closed in both directions due to roadworks. This closure is between the Fountain Roundabout and Beaconsfield Road for repair work by Wessex Water. Teams are being invited to sign up for the Dragon Boat Festival in Poole Park this June, raising funds for Forest Holme Hospice Charity. Crews of sixteen paddlers and a drummer will race over two hundred metres, with fancy dress encouraged. The standard team entry fee is four hundred and fifty pounds, which works out at just over twenty-six pounds per person for a full crew.
